After the results of the presidential election came in, President Trump and other members of the federal government began making changes to policies that would impact employers throughout the country. These changes included modifications to immigration, transgender rights and protections, and health care reform, as well as shifts in the National Labor Relations Board and those at state and local levels.
Many of these proposed changes are still up in the air, including the future of the Affordable Care Act. The American Health Care Act was introduced in March and passed the House of Representatives in early May. It still awaits review in the Senate. Until any changes are made into laws, employers must continue to comply with the ACA requirements and regulations.
